Reaching for our Joy Opening Night

The "Reaching for our Joy" reception was a wonderful evening. Family and friends came out to view the great art work, enjoy some conversation, food and mulled wine! We had a great time and we're already planning future exhibits. For those that weren't able to come out to the reception the artwork will be on view until January 17 (closed the week between Christmas and New Years) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm (remember to ring the bell)!

Reaching for Our Joy

Well, hanging paintings can be a chore but it's a lot of fun when you're with friends. That was the easy part. Driving home in the first snowstorm of the year took three nailbiting hours but Sarah Jane did an admirable job. We sang a few Christmas songs and then listened to an old best of ABBA CD twice! Reaching for our Joy will officially open on Dec. 6 and run until Jan. 17, 2007. Artists reception will be on Friday, Dec 15th from 7pm onwards. Exhibit is at the Universalist Unitarian Church, Ballroom Gallery, 5500 Inglis Street, Halifax. Come out and enjoy the show, we'd love to share it with you.

Halloween and The Scream

Taking Halloween to an artistic level I decided to dress up as Edvard Munch's "Skrik" 1893 or as we call it "The Scream". Stolen in 2004 and recovered this year!

“ I was walking along a path with two friends—the sun was setting—suddenly the sky turned blood red—I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence—there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city—my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety—and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.
